Refrigerated Van (Chiller & Freezer)

Vehicle Details

A refrigerated van is the all-purpose workhorse of cold-chain delivery. Depending on your cargo, we supply the same vehicle body in either a chiller setup (0°C to +8°C for fresh food, dairy, flowers, and pharma) or a freezer setup (-18°C to -25°C for frozen food, ice cream, meat, and seafood). If you have not yet decided between a chiller and a freezer van, our team will match the right configuration to your goods. Every refrigerated van is Municipality-approved, GPS-tracked, and available for same-day rental across the UAE.

What It Suits

  • —Businesses that have not yet fixed chilled versus frozen
  • —Mixed routes carrying both bands behind a bulkhead
  • —Seasonal work where the cargo type changes through the year
  • —Trial routes before committing to a dedicated vehicle
  • —Any 0°C to +8°C or -18°C to -25°C cargo under ~1.5 tons

What it is not for: Palletised loads above roughly 3 tons. Past that a refrigerated truck is better economics, usually once one truck would replace two van runs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a refrigerated van different from a chiller van?

Refrigerated van is the category; chiller van is one configuration of it. Both chiller and freezer vans are refrigerated vans. If you ask us for a refrigerated van the first thing we will establish is which temperature band your cargo needs, because that picks the vehicle.

Can one van run chilled and frozen at the same time?

Yes, on a dual-compartment body. An insulated bulkhead splits the cargo area into two zones with separate set points, so you can run -18°C on one side and +4°C on the other. It is the standard answer for convenience and catering distribution where one route mixes both.

How do I decide which configuration I need?

One question settles it: must the cargo stay frozen solid? If yes, freezer at -18°C to -25°C. If it must stay cold but not frozen — fresh produce, dairy, chilled meat, flowers, pharmacy stock — chiller at 0°C to +8°C is correct and costs less. Booking a chiller for frozen cargo is the expensive mistake, because thawed stock cannot be re-frozen and sold.

What happens if I need something bigger mid-contract?

We swap you up. Most customers start with a van and move to a truck as a route matures, and there is no penalty for changing vehicle class on a new hire period.
