Before you enquire
Most loads that people bring to a truck page are actually van-sized. A refrigerated van runs the same temperature bands, costs less per day, and handles tight access far better. The honest test: you only need a truck once one truck would replace two van runs on the same route.
For van-sized loads see refrigerated van rental in Dubai, or chiller van rental in Dubai.
The short version of everything customers ask us about refrigerated truck rental in Dubai in the UAE.
Dubai's cold chain runs at a different tempo from the rest of the country. Port cargo clears on its own schedule, free zones gate-control access, retail delivery windows are narrow, and for five months of the year the ambient temperature punishes any weakness in a refrigeration unit. A truck that works elsewhere in the Gulf can still fail here.
We keep refrigerated trucks staged inside the emirate for that reason. Every vehicle runs an adjustable -25°C to +15°C, arrives pulled down to your set point, and logs the journey continuously so you have a record to show at inspection or in a dispute. For loads under roughly 3 tons, our refrigerated van rental in Dubai is the cheaper vehicle.
At a glance
Container collection is the movement that most rewards getting the details right. A refrigerated container holds temperature while it is plugged in; the risk window opens the moment it is unplugged for devanning and closes when the cargo is back in a cold store. Anything standing on a hot dock in between is eating into product life.
Our approach is to stage against your clearance window rather than react to it. Tell us when the container is expected to clear and we position a pre-cooled truck for that slot, gate pass already arranged. For cargo moving into JAFZA, Dubai South or DMCC, the gate pass matters as much as the truck — a driver turned back at the gate costs you the window.
If you arrived searching the industry term, our reefer truck rental page covers the same fleet from the freight-forwarding angle.
Access constrains the choice more in Dubai than tonnage does. A 7-ton truck that is perfect for a DIP warehouse run is the wrong vehicle for a Deira restaurant delivery, regardless of how much it is carrying.
3-ton, up to 6 pallets — retail replenishment, restaurant and hotel supply, and anywhere the last hundred metres are tight. The default for Deira, Bur Dubai and older Al Quoz streets.
7-ton, up to 10 pallets — wholesale distribution, supermarket replenishment, central kitchen output. The volume workhorse for DIP and Al Quoz.
10-ton, container loads — Jebel Ali collections and warehouse-to-warehouse transfers. Specify a tail lift if the receiving site has no dock.
Multi-temperature — a bulkhead splits the body so one route can carry frozen and chilled. Common for convenience and catering distribution.
Full size guidance, including the point where a truck stops being worth it, is on our refrigerated truck rental hub.
Our Dubai truck customers cluster into a handful of recognisable groups. Importers and freight forwarders pulling frozen containers out of Jebel Ali into cold storage. Food manufacturers and central kitchens in Al Quoz and DIP pushing daily output to multiple sites. Supermarket and convenience groups replenishing inside narrow windows. Seafood and meat wholesalers working out of Ras Al Khor and Al Aweer on early-morning cycles. Hotel and catering operators supplying events, where a missed delivery is not recoverable.
Event and banqueting work is covered in more detail on our catering refrigerated transport page, and FMCG contract distribution on food and beverage cold chain.
We price each hire individually rather than publishing rates, because a fixed Al Quoz shuttle and a multi-drop route across the emirate are different jobs in the same vehicle. Have these ready:
Truck size — driven by pallet count and site access, not tonnage alone.
Temperature band — frozen set points work the unit harder than chilled.
Duration — daily, weekly or monthly, with the per-day rate falling as the term extends.
Route and drop count — a fixed shuttle costs less to serve than scattered multi-drop.
Tail lift and free zone access — tell us up front so the right unit and gate pass are arranged.
Start date — trucks are a smaller pool than vans and peak windows fill early.
